Wounded Cormorant

This little guy was being pounded by the surf. Don’t know what was wrong with him, but the wildlife rescue people were called. I picked him up and carried him out of the surf zone so that he could rest.

This was on Satellite Beach in April. I hope he’s doing well. It amazed me how he has what looks like blue eye shadow around the eyes. Cormorants and anhingas seem to be about the most drab in color. Well, now I know that I just didn’t get close enough.

Have you ever rescued a bird? Hang around the beach long enough and you likely will.
